Boys Summer Lacrosse Camp and Clinic Opportunities

Good Morning Rec Parents,

I hope life is treating you all well. I wanted to send over some info on possible boys summer lacrosse camps and clinics that you might want to sign your kiddos up for. Keeping a stick in their hands is always a great thing. Also, getting them off their screens for a while is always a good thing as well. Here are a few possibilities in chronological order.

  1. MDLL Free Clinic at St Mary’s HS - June 28th, 5:00-6:30pm. This is for kids that are going into 6th grade all the way up to 11th graders. To register for the free clinic, fill out this Google Form - CLICK HERE
  2. Broadneck HS Summer Camp - July 5th through the 7th. 8am until noon and ages 6-15. To register, CLICK HERE
  3. Arundel HS Lacrosse Summer Camp - July 18-21, 4:00-6:00pm. 8 year olds to incoming 9th graders. Great camp! To register, CLICK HERE
  4. Spalding HS Summer Camp - July 26th - 28th: 9am-2pm, grades 2nd through 9th. To register, CLICK HERE
  5. Arden Diamondbacks Lacrosse Club Summer Camp - July 27th - 29th, 9am - 12pm. K - 7th graders. To register, CLICK HERE

Call for Nominations to Kent Island Youth Lacrosse Board
Hello family and friends of Kent Island Youth Lacrosse!

KIYL is seeking nominations from our general membership (you all) for our Board of Directors Officer positions as well as for Members at Large. All six Board Officer positions (President, Vice President, Mens Commissioner, Womens Commissioner, Treasurer, and Secretary) as well as Board Members at Large (minimum four, no maximum) are up for nomination/vote to become the next KIYL Board in the 2022/2023 year. Some existing Board members will be nominated to return, some are moving on, but either way we need your participation to shape the future of KIYL!

Board Officer duties are outlined in the KIYL by-laws (link here, page 10). Many of the experienced current and former Board members will remain as Members at Large to help any first-time appointees. Equally important to understanding how the KIYL Board functions is to review the Committees (page 14 in by-laws) for areas of responsibility. All of these Committees need to be staffed by the entire Board, but if you are looking to contribute to KIYL as a Member at Large we'd like to know what you are interested in. Any questions please ask!

Note that the KIYL Officer position of Treasurer is the sole position on the Board that does not require a child to be in the KIYL program, so if you know someone that has an interest in maintaining the finances for a non-profit entity in their spare time, please refer them to us.

Please use the online Google form link below to nominate yourself or someone for a KIYL Board Officer or Member at Large position. The deadline for nominations is JUN 30th. Reaching out to nominees prior to your nomination of them is appreciated. Any questions on the process, please let us know.

- Dan Motto
President, KIYL
