Kent Island Youth Lacrosse Board Positions, Responsibilities and Duties
President/Chairman
This officer shall be the CEO of the Association. The Chairman shall have the authority to act on the Board of Directors and shall direct all activities of Kent Island Youth Lacrosse including coordinating and presiding over the meetings and business; approving expenditures of funds; representing to other organization with the league; assisting with the appointing all lead persons for all committees; casting a vote in the board of directors and in the event that the vote end in a tie making the deciding vote; assisting and approving all coaching positions in coordination with the boy’s and girl's coordinator. Vice President/Vice Chairman
This officer shall be a member in the Board of Directors and shall preside over meetings in the absence of the Chairman and perform other duties delegated to him/her by the Chairman. Shall be one of the three officers to sign checks or drafts for the organization. The Vice Chairman shall have one vote in all matters of the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse organization.
Boy’s Coordinator/Commissioner
The boy’s coordinator shall be a member of the Board of Directors and preside over the boy's coaches. The boy’s coordinator shall have one vote in all matters of the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse organization. Is responsible for implementing the boy’s program to include contact for boy’s coaches, recruitment, assisting the schedule committees, contact for parents with complaints, disciplinary action of coaches, future development of coaches, and arranging tournaments.
Girl’s Coordinator/Commissioner
The girl’s coordinator shall be a member of the Board of Directors and preside over the girl's coaches. The girl’s coordinator shall have one vote in all matters of the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse organization. Is responsible for implementing the girl’s program to include contact for girl’s coaches, recruitment, assisting the schedule committees, contact for parents with complaints, disciplinary action of coaches, future development of coaches, and arranging tournaments.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall be a member of the Board of Directors, and will have one vote in all matters of the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse organization. The treasurer shall be responsible for collection, recording and disbursing the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse Organization funds and maintaining the financial books and records. The treasurer shall sign all checks. Is responsible for proposing the annual budget for approval each year.
Secretary
The Secretary shall be a member of the Board of Directors, and will have one vote in all matters of the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse organization. The secretary shall be responsible for keeping the minutes of meeting and corporate and other non-financial records of the organization.
Member at Large
Will participate and work with the board members at the discretion of the board of directors, and will perform duties delegated to him/her by the Chairman. At least one of the members at large will be the past president of the board from the previous term to ensure continuity with the association. The Members at Large shall each have one vote in all matters of the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse organization.
The members of the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse Organization shall elect officers for the next year (beginning with the September meeting) elected at the August meeting. Each officer shall serve a two-year term and may serve as many consecutive terms as elected.
The members of the Kent Island Youth Lacrosse organization may nominate candidates they feel will best represent the duties of the office and the organization. Officer elections shall be by majority vote of those members present at the August meeting and take office in September.
