Official Lacrosse Stick

At the Pee Wee, Midget and Junior Levels, Referees will randomly check sticks to make sure they are within the NFHS rules.  It is a player and coach’s responsibility to make sure sticks are within the rules.

  • Short stick may be 40 to 42 inches. A short stick can never be shorter than 40 inches and never longer than 42 inches.
  • Long Stick may be 52 to 72 inches. A long pole must be at least 52 inches and never longer than 72 inches.
  • Goalie Stick may be 40 to 72 inches

The head of the Crosse at its widest point shall measure between 6 ½ and 10 inches, inside measurement, at the top and the bottom of the wall.

The pocket shall be deemed to have sagged too deeply if the top surface of a lacrosse ball, when placed therein, is below the bottom edge of the side wall. This does not apply to the goal keeper’s Crosse.

There are no restrictions on the length of a stick for In-house and Clinic.  It is common for a stick to be 36 or 38 inches at that age level, due to the size of the players.
